Langkawi Island : Malaysia attraction.

Now we will introduce and talk about Langkawi Island which is located at Kedah. This island is very famous among tourist and has many places to visit. As we know, Langkawi is one of the best alternatives holiday in one of the popular tropical islands in the world. Langkawi stays among the top Malaysia tourism industries. The Langkawi tourism caught many eyes with it Malaysia culture, beautiful beaches, world-class infrastructure, ultra-cheap duty-free shopping, island of scenic, tranquil landscapes, mangroves rich in flora and fauna and its fascinating legends no wonder it has become the most tourist attractions in Malaysia and a most favourite destination for local and international visitors and it certainly give huge revenue to Malaysia Tourism sector.
The main tourist attractions of Langkawi Island are its virgin white sandy beaches. The beaches have very gentle continental slope and the water is crystal clear. The most popular beaches are Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah, Burau Bay, Pantai Kok, and Datai Bay





Langkawi Tourism Island in Malaysia noted for its legends and beautiful views is the most developed in the group. Certainly it has good beaches, abundant marine life and basically offers an idyllic retreat from the urban jungle. FOR EXAMPLE:


Underwater World Langkawi
Situated along Pantai Cenang. The Underwater World Langkawi is one of the largest aquariums in Asia. It facilitate with a 15m-long walk through tunnel from which you can view more than 5,000 kinds of marine life in over 100 tanks. The building is a duty-free shopping complex.






PULAU PAYAR MARINE PARK
It is located 30km south of Langkawi tourism zone. This marine park extends over a number of islands with Pulau Payar being the largest. It takes an hour to get there from the Kuah Jetty by speedboat. There is a floating platform moored off Pulau Payar which has a restaurant and underwater observation chamber to view the marine life surrounding a reef. It is a good area for snorkelling or taking rides in glass-bottomed boats.




Sungai Kilim
For the adventurous, Langkawi offering some truly unforgettable sights and experiences. A new tour that is bound to provide plenty of thrills to those who are game is the boat cruise to Kilim Nature Park, an escapable to another world. Spread over an area of 100 sq. km. Kilim Nature Park features a beautiful mix of well-protected green mangrove forests, isolated white beaches and blue lagoons. On the trail, along the calm winding river, you will be exposed to the wonders of the park’s marine ecosystem, flora and fauna and its natural habitats like the overhanging “Bogak Trees”, Brown Eagles, Tree Crabs, Iguanas and Macaques. Enjoy the scenic and spectacular views of unique limestone rock formations emerging from the floor of the mangrove swamps and the sea. 


Langkawi also has a big event to attract people come and visit that place such as International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) and Le Tour De' Langkawi.
The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA)  is the premier destination for aerospace and maritime manufacturers targeting the Asia Pacific growth markets from the defence, enforcement, civil and commercial sectors. For nearly 25 years. LIMA has been serving exhibitor needs by assembling key decision makers and specifiers from across the region for this biennial 5 day event. Held at the purpose-built Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre, the exhibition combines the adjacent Langkawi International Airport and a neighbouring cruise jetty as part of its overall facilities, affording exceptional options to promote product capability. 




Other Langkawi Tourism big event is Le Tour De’ Langkawi. It is Modelled after the famous ‘Le Tour De’ France’, this top-notch race held over two weeks each year in February sees the world’s best cyclists test their mental strength and physical endurance the limit. The gruelling multi-stage race flags off in the fabulous island of Langkawi and traverses the length and breadth of Peninsular Malaysia before reaching the finishing line in Kuala Lumpur.


If you want to go to Langlawi Island, there are a few way to get there. First is by ferry, second is flight and international airlines.

Ferry
Langkawi tourism zone is accessible by ferry from either Kuala Kedah (75 minutes) or Kuala Perlis (45 minutes). Ferry usually leaves on the hour from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm. Both ferry terminals offer very safe and ample parking facilities. The cost is at about MR5 per day.

Flight
There are daily flights to Langkawi tourism zone from Kuala Lumpur which land at Langkawi International Airport. Langkawi is also accessible by Malaysia Airlines or Silkair from Singapore. It takes only about one and a half hours. You also can fly by Malaysia Airlines or Air Asia direct from Kuala Lumpur to this island that will take you less than one and a half hours.

International Airlines
Many international airlines offer non-stop flights to either Singapore airport or Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) from Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and North Americ. For your information, there are only three Official Tourist Information Center in Langkawi that are run by the Malaysian Government. In fact they not only help with tourism information of the island, they also assist with information for the whole of Malaysia with an emphasis on local tourism in Langkawi. One such official center is located at the arrival hall of the airport, one at Kuah Jetty Point next to the Kuah Ferry Jetty, and the other in Kuah Town Center. Happy holiday :)
